Question

We recently purchased a Grandfathers Clock from an Estate. The seller stated it had been in the corner of a room and had not been running for over 20 some years. The clock came with a base and in the base drawer is the original certificate and the serial number that matches the number on the clock. The movements have "Black Forest" on them, and it appears to he Hermle just above that. It is in excellent condition from what we can see. The certificate has Steinway Clock Co, Wittingtion Edition on it. Is this a basic clock and is there a value we can associate with it? Thank you

No matter what the name on the clock, if it has a hermle movement the clock is not worth a whole lot. Hermle movements are good for around 20 years and then you throw away. I can't tell you the value but I wouldn't count on a whole lot. Because it say steinway you might get a little more. The berst way to get a price is to go on e-bay anf find similar type clocks with same movement numbers.
