recently purchased a waltham 31 day double windup wall clock dual weight made in korea. not sure of age but it runs very fast, how to wind it and how do i slow it down the minute hand is almost a second hand
Your clock is spring driven. The 2 weights are called "dummy weights" and are for appearance only. To wind it, you should have a key to turn the winding arbors at the 4 & 8 o'clock positions on the dial. If the clock is running as fast as you indicate, there are 2 possibilities. One, when you bought the clock, the seller didn't provide you with a pendulum. Running without a pendulum it will gain huge amounts of time. Two, it has a pendulum but still runs this fast, there is a problem with the escapement of the clock and will require repair work.
