At Chastain Park, guests can swim 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for their free public swim time. Most of the public pools throughout the metro area host several hours of free swim time each weekday including Candler Park and Grant Park pools.
Earlier in the month, the city of Atlanta also waived usual fees for locals and visitors to get some relief from the blistering heat.
So what to do on the weekend to beat the heat? Join the crowds at the Atlanta Aquarium, Coke Museum or take in a movie. I'm personally a fan of hanging out at the Mac store to oggle the goods on display. They also host free workshops.
