Macy's Great Tree Lighting

Macy's at Lenox Square Mall is gearing up for its annual Christmas tree lighting with the lighting of the Great Tree. The event will be broadcast, live, via Channel 2 WSB-TV.

I know I don't have to say, "mark your calendars for Thanksgiving night" to watch the big event at 7pm. Mostly because you've already got your calendars marked and are in deep training to snag the best Black Friday deals.

This is my theory. Channel 2's Jovita Moore and David Chandley, who will host the the Great Tree lighting from from Lenox Square on Thanksgiving night, are really just trying to cut in line for holiday savings.

Surely they're just skipping right to the front of the eager shopping line.

Other holiday conspiracy theories? Great Tree lighting performers Trace Adkins, Chris Mann from The Voice, and Nickelodeon's Cymphonique Miller are also trying to cut in line for Black Friday deals in Atlanta.

Kick off your Atlanta holiday shopping by taking in the 60-foot white pine shining with some 4,000 lights.
