The Atlanta Opera Presents The Art of Tibetan Opera

Friday March 22, 2013

By Susan Finch

The Atlanta Opera presents a free educational lecture on The Art of Tibetan Opera: Vocal Production and Melodies of Ache Lhamo.

The performance explores Ache lhamo, the most dramatic tradition of Tibet. Audiences learn more about techniques used by the Tibetan artists and compare with Western opera.

Mark your calendars. Atlanta Opera patrons are invited to a free performance of Sukyi Nyima ("Radiant as the Sun") by Tashi D. Sharzur and sung by Tibetan performers on April 6, 4 to 6 pm, in Cannon Chapel on Emory University's campus.

Tickets are free, but an RSVP is requested at education@atlantaopera.org.
