You can access the Internet, get GPS services, pay your bills and a host of other services through your cell phone. Now, you can also access insurance services with mobile applications. It is a growing trend for many top insurance carriers to offer mobile applications to customers. Some of the top insurance companies are now offering mobile services including Nationwide, USAA and Geico.

You might be wondering why you need a mobile application for insurance. There are many great services available through mobile applications including bill pay services, claims services and roadside assistance services.

With some services, you can also get an insurance quote, view your policy information, and access information of what you should do if you are in an automobile accident. You can even record pictures and other relevant data at the accident scene and automatically send them to the insurance company.

Not all insurance companies offer mobile applications. If you are not sure, ask your insurance company if they offer this service and if there is a fee to sign up. Many insurance companies are offering this service free to customers. You will need to make sure that the service is compatible with your phone. Most of these services are compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, BlackBerry and Android phones. The insurance mobile applications simply require a download procedure and you are all set!
